CHAPTER FOURTEEN

As soon as I got home Friday morning, I called Carmen to tell her everything about my trip to Montreal.

“Hey girl, are you busy?” I asked

“Never to busy for my best friend, how was your trip?” Carmen asked.

“You will never guess in a million years who I ran into there,” I returned.

“Who? Don’t tell me Hassan followed you to Montreal.”

“Girl, No. Don’t even bring Hassan up to me. I ran into Dre, do you remember him?”

“Girl yes I remember that fly ass nigga, how the hell you run into him again? He’s a huge rapper now,” Carmen said.

“I know he’s a rapper, Carmen. I ran into him at the restaurant I had dinner at the first night I was there.”

“Tell me more.”

“Well, we ended up having drinks later that night after his show, and then he came back to my hotel suite. We didn’t fuck the first night, if that’s what you’re thinking.”

“Well, do I really want to know what happened, Miah,” Carmen said as if she had been let down.

“He spent the night, and the next day we had the best sex I’ve ever had in my life.”

“Damn girl!” Carmen excitedly shouted.

“I know girl, it was bomb. Dre rearranged his scheduled and stayed with me for the rest of the trip. He’s talking about having a future with me. He has a place in Houston, and wants to start a relationship.”

“Wow, only you can get played out and move on to someone bigger and better. I have to give props where they’re due, Miah. I’m proud of you.”

“I feel like a free woman, Carmen. I don’t know what sparked inside of me while I visited Montreal, but whatever it was has me on a high I don’t want to come down from,” I said.

“Well girl, we need to hit the club and pop some bubbly. I have an invite for Striptease at Club Mercedes tonight, do you want to come?” Carmen asked.

“Hell yeah, I’m down for whatever. We haven’t been clubbing since I met Hassan anyway, it’s time for me to get back out there,” I said.

“Are you sure? You could run into Hassan,” Carmen returned.

“I don’t care if I run into Hassan’s mother, I don’t fuck with him anymore.”

“Alright girl, I’ll drop by your house tonight,” Carmen said as we disconnected from the call.

It was still early Friday morning, so I decided to take a shower and get dressed for work. I didn’t need to take a nap because I slept the whole flight to Houston, so I already felt somewhat refreshed.

Traffic wasn’t too bad on the way to my boutique, mainly because I drove into the city later than I usually would. When I pulled up to my parking spot, I could see a deliveryman handing Greg vases full of every kind of flower imaginable. I waited until Greg signed for the flowers before I got out of my car. As soon as the deliveryman left, I hurriedly jumped out of my car and made a beeline to Greg.
